Artist in Residence

The annual Artist in Residence programme has been a feature of our school for more than 25 years.  A community trust organises an artist to work in the community, early childhood centres and our school for a week, collaborating to make a art work to be shared with the community.  Marching this artwork up the main street (George Street) of Port Chalmers on a Sunday and having a celebration at the school has entertained many people over the years. Some cruise ship passengers have joined in the parade and enjoyed the atmosphere that this programme offers.  

Some of the artists we have worked with have included Pamela Brown, Jim Cooper, Donna Demente, Manu Berry, Levity Beat to name a few.  Visual arts, dance, music have all featured.
