Buddy Reading

 

A deep belief in the concept of tuakana-teina, the relationship between older ākonga and younger ākonga has informed our buddy programme.  All ākonga have a buddy and share weekly in buddy reading.  This relationship is also fostered in many of the activities and learnings around the school.  When our Year 8’s leave they fondly talk about the buddy they had when they first started at school, eight years earlier.
